One of the first posts that I wrote for this blog was about Famous Anglophiles. It also happens to be one of the most visited pages on this site. So, after watching the feeds for a few months, I’ve managed to cobble together another list of Famous Anglophiles.
I was surprised at some of the names on the list, as I’m sure you all will be too.

Famous Anglophiles: Part 2
The leading lady from the latest Superman movie recently admitted that she’s a total Anglophile when it comes to men. She’s dating British model James Rousseasu.
She recently said:
“I don’t know what my thing is for British men. My family probably think I’ve got some weird fetish. Man, I don’t know.”
“Lost Star” Maggie Grace recently admitted that’s she’s a passionate Anglophile. Her fascination started when she was a child and had a pen pal in England’s Lake District.
She was recently quoted as saying this about England:
“So I have a really skewed idea of England with Bath and Jane Austen and BBC4 period dramas that last six hours with a plot that doesn’t really move until hour four. England has such an interesting culture to me because there is such dualism, there’s this sense of pride and stiff upper lip, but then it’s the country that gave us page three – it doesn’t really follow.”
One of the stars of the hit TV show and Movie “Sex and the City,” Kim Cattrall, also happens to be a passionate Anglophile.
She was actually born in Liverpool and moved to Canada as a child. She loves coming to England and revisiting her roots. She currently lives in London now prefers to work in Britain as well.
She had this to say about England in a recent interview:
“I seem to coming full circle at this point in my life, and I’m so happy to become more and more connected to my roots. All of the times I have come to work in the UK in the last couple of years, I have rediscovered relatives and memories and friendships, and it seems to continue – I can’t imagine working in a better place.”
Recently, Kim Cattrall posed nude to help save the Titian paintings for the nation that were going to be put up for sale by their owner, if they weren’t bought by the Scottish National Gallery.

Kevin Spacey currently lives on London and moved there to become the Artistic Director of the Old Vic Theater. He gotten good reviews for the role as well as the many roles he’s played on stage. He’s also been awarded several honors from UK universities for his theatre work.
He announced a few years ago that he intended to stay at the Old Vic at least another 9 years (this was in 2006). Since he has spent so much time in the UK, he has said that he intends to take up British Citizenship when it becomes available to him.
The star of Spiderman is currently dating Brit Musician Johnny Borrell. She’s been living in London and loving it. She hopes to move there permanently.
She recently said this about living in the UK:
â€œI love London. I love Hampstead Heath. I love the pubs, I love the Guinness and the shopping.â€ And the people? â€œI even love the humour. And they have the best music shows here.â€ And according to People, â€œ(The Brits) are very charming-the accent is cute!â€
Comedian Mike Myers is a consummate Anglophile as well. His most famous role, Austin Powers, is a play on British Spy novel tradition and pokes great fun at British culture and civilization.
Myers is actually Canadian and also hold British Citizenship thanks to his parents, who were born in Liverpool.
Hollywood Bad Girl/Good Girl Drew Barrymore is also a confessed Anglophile, visiting as often as she can.
Drew takes inspiration by the country’s fashion and music and loves visiting London and England.
Music wild child and former spouse of the late Kurt Cobain is known to be an Anglophile.
Gillian was actually raised in the UK but was imported over to America for her acting career. A few years ago she returned to England and moved into a swank flat in hip Notting Hill.
Gillian has been known to star in British costume dramas, most recently in a retelling of Charles Dickens’s Bleak House.
The iconic filmmaker is a committed Anglophile and is known to have an encyclopedia knowledge of British Cinema.
