Castle Combe is one of the most famous places in England because of its beauty. I’ve visited several times and I love it there. What I love most is the complete silence. It’s a true escape from the hustle and bustle of the world. We stopped there for a night on our drive from Land’s End to John O’Groats and I took some time to shoot this video. It was raining, early morning, but it was wonderful. See for yourself. Put some headphones on, sit back, put the video full screen and be transported to an English idyll.
Jonathan,
You’ve done it again! Brought back memories of our home of several years in England (Castle Combe). We miss our walks on all the trails in the area, the pubs, Manor House Golf Course and the Manor House Hotel. We miss having been so close to Bath. You are right it is so quiet, peaceful and relaxing there. Your video is magical.
Thanks,
Jim
Dear Jonathan – a trivial comment, but I wanted to thank you for writing about Castle Combe and ITS beauty. I can’t believe the number of otherwise literate people who succumb to the mistake of writing “it’s” as the possessive of “it”, and seeing the possessive written correctly – for once – makes my day.
