Doctor Whooligan: Once, Upon Time, Flux: Chapters Four and Five Previewed, David Tennant News

November 13, 2021 By Rob Leave a Comment

For me, War of the Sontarans was a more traditional adventure than the schizoid opener, The Halloween Apocalypse. While I did enjoy each episode, I felt Chapter Two was stronger and featured some decent character development for Dan and The Doctor. I love how fun Dan is. John Bishop has been a breath of fresh air. But, I feel there is a lot more going on with him than we know. … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: Once, Upon Time, Flux: Chapters Four and Five Previewed, David Tennant News

Doctor Whooligan: War of the Sontarans, Capaldi Sings, Season 17 On Blu Ray, Convention News

November 5, 2021 By Rob Leave a Comment

While The Halloween Apocalypse had the pacing of a season finale, it missed its mark as an opener. Faced with the challenges of introducing a myriad of plot lines and new characters, it was a piece of episodic television that attempted to do a lot in an hour. Sure it covered a lot of ground and established the audience's footing for the season. However, it ended up being more … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: War of the Sontarans, Capaldi Sings, Season 17 On Blu Ray, Convention News

Doctor Whooligan Returns: Doctor Who Season 13 Begins With The Halloween Apocalypse

October 30, 2021 By Rob Leave a Comment

It has been a very long time since we've had The Doctor back on our screens. After a pandemic, the announcement that Russell T. Davies was taking over as showrunner in 2022, and the news that Jodie Whittaker was leaving the show, it is exciting to have a new season to watch. However, despite the excitement about Season 13, there is an air of uncertainty hanging over Doctor Who … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan Returns: Doctor Who Season 13 Begins With The Halloween Apocalypse

Doctor Whooligan: The Timeless Children, Tom Baker Returns to Big Finish, Burn Gorman Update

February 28, 2020 By Rob 1 Comment

Well, Ascension of the Cybermen was certainly a wild ride. A bit convoluted in places, but thrilling nonetheless. Overall, it was just the pop the series needed as it closed out the season. In a year of low ratings, it is good to have some momentum carrying over. Although, I do not think the overall ratings really matter that much anymore since it is now an international … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: The Timeless Children, Tom Baker Returns to Big Finish, Burn Gorman Update

Doctor Whooligan: Ascension of the Cybermen, Season 13 News, The Faceless Ones, Jacqueline Hill Biography, Eccleston at MegaCon

February 22, 2020 By Rob Leave a Comment

It is a week of anticipation for Whovians as the season winds to a close. The oncoming storm promised from the Cybermen plus the mystery of whom this other Doctor is has left fans on the edge of their seats. My biggest hope is that the payoff is worth all the hype. Overall, I thought The Haunting of Villa Diodati had some terrific moments of pure horror that worked well. … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: Ascension of the Cybermen, Season 13 News, The Faceless Ones, Jacqueline Hill Biography, Eccleston at MegaCon

Doctor Whooligan: The Haunting of Villa Diodati, Tennant On Stage, Palin Joins Torchwood, Chicago TARDIS News

February 14, 2020 By Rob 1 Comment

Although Can You Hear Me? was kind of a muddled mess, it was not terrible. The biggest problem it had was the fact that The Eternals cannot die, so the writers had to think of a clever way for them to be defeated. While this is an interesting challenge, it does create a lot of hassles with the overall storytelling in that a 45-minute episode simply may not be able to do it … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: The Haunting of Villa Diodati, Tennant On Stage, Palin Joins Torchwood, Chicago TARDIS News

Doctor Whooligan: The Cybermen Return, Chicago TARDIS Guests, Captain Jack For Big Finish, Matt Smith News

February 7, 2020 By Rob Leave a Comment

The most exciting news this week is that fans have been given the lowdown on the remainder of Season 12. There's also some cool stuff going on with the Cybermen coming back as well as another historically set adventure. Overall, it appears that this last lap for the current series promises some serious tension and a darker tone, both of which (I believe) are needed as the … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: The Cybermen Return, Chicago TARDIS Guests, Captain Jack For Big Finish, Matt Smith News

Doctor Whooligan: Praxeus and Can You Hear Me? Previews, Big Finish Update, Convention News, Barrowman’s Return

January 31, 2020 By Rob Leave a Comment

It indeed has been an interesting week! As we enter week six of the new season, there are lots of opinions are out there about what recent events all mean. While this is not the first time Doctor Who has done something unexpected, it is the first time that its fandom has been so staunchly divided. Personally, I am paying no attention at all to the current series' overall … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: Praxeus and Can You Hear Me? Doctor Whooligan: Doctor Who New Year’s Special Spyfall Preview

December 31, 2019 By Rob Leave a Comment

After a seemingly endless wait, the Doctor is back! The first adventure of the new season is a glorious homage to all things James Bond. Entitled Spyfall, season 12’s opener, the first of two-parts, promises to pick up where Resolution left off in terms of pacing and style. However, despite the spy shenanigans, there's a lot of other interesting things going on to feed the … [Read more...] about Doctor Whooligan: Doctor Who New Year’s Special Spyfall Preview
